Take Your Kids to Work Day

This event was a lot of fun and had so much fun stuff to do! The kids loved the face painting and tattoos.

They had cool screen printing stations set up where you could make your own shirts but we just grabbed the pre-made ones.

M loved the sweets station

They had a cool string art they were creating with the facebook logo. The science center had exhibits

I had no idea the photo sessions were legit studio style sessions or I would have tried coordinating outfits. M3 pooped out his onesie 5 minutes after arrival so it wouldn't have mattered that much anyways. I laughed because the facebook onesie packed as backup worked out great. Someone made the comment on M3's tongue sticking out so M had to stick his out in every shot.

Next time, face painting after the photo shoot.

I love this one of my sweet boy.

I love all of the family friendly events they put on. They do such a great job organizing and executing them too.

The rest of April after Easter

Ends up Husband travels for work about once a month. I decided to put on my big girl pants and take the kids to fundraiser night at Teddy's big burgers. It was a little nutty, but half of the kindergarten class was there so I had backup.

M started Jr Ninja Warrior so he can go to a class during J's gymnastics class. He loves it. J loves it. My wallet hates it. I sure like watching them do it though.

J's homework made me laugh. Not appropriate for middle school.

I also took all the kids to art night at her elementary school. I thought her picture was particularly awesome, but I'm definitely biased.

Here is some of the others for comparison.

We finally had a beautiful sunny day! The boys and I went to a new park to enjoy it.

I've been doing some calligraphy challenges with my brush pens. This prompt was repetition and wrapping paper.

J found the bunny straws and donned the bunny ears.

J and I went on a girl date to Target and got a unicorn frappicino. She used her own money to buy a bird that records and plays what you say to it. It's really fun to do a fake scream into it and hear it parrot back "AHHHH" in a higher pitch.

She was invited to a bday party at the American Girl cafe. She wore the same outfit as her doll but was disappointed when they wouldn't pierce her doll's ears since it is a Target one, not the $80 American Girl one. Buuuuuut she was all smiles when I was able to do it with a cheap pair from Forever 21 and still have money left over for her bird toy. Money and value lesson learned :)

I made a hipster baby beard hat for Husband's coworker.

Sara and her sister Kristine came up for a visit and we had a blast. I always wanted to eat at a seafood place with a bib and mallets. Achievement unlocked!

We also hit up Pike Place because you just have to!

We also toured Theo chocolate factory and visited the bridge troll.

We stayed up waaaaay too late talking every night but it was seriously SO much fun to have them visit.

Easter

I've decided I really enjoy Easter celebrations. I can go all out with decor and tablescape and there is no expectations like with Christmas. Christ's resurrection is such a beautiful and joyful reason to celebrate.

And I like matching outfits. This was unfortunately the best picture we could get. It's under the magnolia tree/bush because I just found out what that plant is. I've only ever read about magnolia tree, never actually seen one. This is a royal star magnolia, not the breathtaking pink bloom kind, but still lovely.

I made a little Easter tree centerpiece with the blooms.

Most of the cinnamon roll bunnies looks like mickey mouse, but this one was distinctly rabbit.

J got little high heels and was sad her elementary school had a no high heels rule. The shopkins person was a huge hit as well as the Marshall and petkins.

Oh and we also dyed 4 dozen eggs because Winco is amazing and I wanted monogramed eggs at each place setting. Like many of my plans, that didn't work out because my cousin Josh was stuck in CA with a sick while and didn't make it back on time. We invited another family in my ward and it was still delightful. And the kids had a blast coloring the eggs so we had plenty extra. All my kids love eating them too, even if peeling them is a little too tricky.

M3 ate 4 and a full cup of yogurt for lunch. Crazy kid.

Originally it was supposed to be an adorable baby in a basket of Easter eggs. But as you can imagine, a crawling baby wants nothing to do with being in a basket. Here are some of the outtakes.

Making a mess of plastic Easter eggs, not that is something he was interested in.

Yep, the ears didn't stay on long. J was a champ and kept putting them back on him for me and jumping out of the shot. She'll be a great 2nd photog someday.
