I like the dentist, clean lines, change, absurdity, and the moment right before an airplane hits the ground. I've been an athletic trainer and a jr high science teacher, now I get to be a mom and fitness instructor. Welcome to the latest adventure
My friend Lauren was moving here so I made some little bears for her daughters from this pattern. Unfortunately, someone else was quite enamored with them so I have to make a few more.
Once upon a time, not long ago a man embarked on a journey with his trusty sidekick.
They trekked to a pretty little spot near Prescott by the name of Lynx Lake
They were delighted that the Lynx had vacated so the enjoyed their time skipping rocks into the lake.
Much to their surprise it rained spectacularly for a few hours. The precipitation graciously waited until the camp was set up so they could hole up inside.
But the rain ended up creating more fun in the form of mud
My little half pint is having a word explosion. Her vocab has double in the past week and since I know it is going to get worse (I SWEAR she said, "Mom! I have to talk to you!" through the door while I was at my sister's. Big Sis stands as my witness. It doesn't hurt that cousin E uses the phrase several times a day).
So here are the favorites so I can remember them.
Dog -often followed by NO! NO! NO! and a shaking finger. She will also point out all the the dog pictures in her books.
Nose
Eyes
Toes
Belly- which sounds an awful lot like bebe. My brother says it means she wants a sibling. The other day she lifted up my shirt, said bebe and kissed my tummy. I am not pregnant so I assume she was saying belly and trying to give me a raspberry.
Dada
Mama
Cheese- both for a cheese stick and whenever I'm taking a picture. She squats down and shows her teeth with a squinched up nose.
Please- more like peas, but we take it over the constant reaching and "eh, eh, eh" demands
Done
Shhhh- Not actually a word, but she'll say it and walk on tip toes ever since my Lil' Sis taught her how to sneak in Seattle
Blankie- more like bane-y
Baby- she decided dollie needed to go swimming in the dog pool yesterday. That meant she needed to join J for her bath too.
Phone- Her favorite thing in the world. She drops the "fff" and holds the "oh" so it is "oooohhhhhne"
Oh no!- we make a lot of spills around here. Many for the enjoyment of cleaning them up.
Hot- "ot ot ot" followed by blowing on the offending item.
Book- Little Quack Loves Colors, Baby ABC's, and Goodnight Seattle. Out of all the abundant choices, these are perennial favorites
Diaper- I asked her to bring me one yesterday and she did. The future is bright my friends.
Dance Dance- always accompanied by dancing
One
Two
Three
Go- usually a jump off a step or couch. This girl is fearless with the bruises to show for it.
Hi
Bye- with the wave, even if it is to someone on the phone who can't see it.
Some phrase but mostly strings of sounds:
Here you go- this was one of her first words ever. "eeego" and hands me something
Thank you- more like dee-doo
Where did it go? -accompanied with hands splayed to her sides and a head shake
We are working on getting her to say David Hasselhoff, but it's slow going. I'm sure she has some more words, but these are what comes to mind.
This was two or three weeks ago and she sounds much better now. She is much more interested in the high heels than performing for me. I understand it may only be amusing to my family, but I'll post it all the same.
She also has an obsession with dancing. Any time there is music, she is groovin'. She has rather innovative too. The first one is sweet, but the second shows how my work outs have influenced her artistically. I laugh at it every. single. time. Worth the thirty seconds even if you aren't family and loads fast.
