This mocking bird has flown inside our house 3(!) times this week, tempted by the food scraps toddlers leave on our table and unhindered by the screen door my kids never close.
The second time we were eating outside and I thought it flew in and said as much to M. He gets a pondering look on his face, grabs the PVC pipe, tucks it under one arm and braces it with one hand like a rifle. My pin size Elmer Fudd then comes inside and bird hunts. J missed the first episode but loved watching the video I took of the event. This time she was home so I called her out to see our little guest. I was trying to get the bird to calm down so it didn't poop out its window frustration. J spontaneously starts singing "I'm A Child of God" to settle it down, meanwhile M is taking aim. I had to laugh at the two different approaches to getting the bird out.
I made another ribbon bouquet for a friend's wedding and I think it is my favorite one yet. It is made out of pages from her favorite book and really deserved to be photographed with my good camera, but that didn't happen. I'll have get a copy of the one her photographer took because these pictures don't do it justice.
J had preschool snack on the day of her Vday party so I let her choose something from pinterest. She had her heart set on these edible fuzzy wuzzies. Remember the pompom things with sticky feet you could buy next to the cash register at Walgreens in the 90's? That's the inspiration.Unfortunately it had 4 year old helper execution for our cake ball variety. But they still turned out pretty cute.
