And the rest of May

More random places this kid has fallen asleep

This is half way under my bed

Eating chocolate is also exhausting after a demanding day at church. He insisted on wearing the Spiderman jacket the whole time even though it was 90 degrees.

He did this whole puzzle by himself, on the carpet even. He was so proud to show me an I honestly thought his siter helped him until I found her sleeping. M has had to do this puzzle about 4 times a day since then.

They prematurely picked carrots from the garden. but they were so delighted with their finds, I couldn't fault them for it.

"Puppy" is a popular game at our house and usually involves me being licked against my will. This iteration involved cheese puffs in a dog bowl and by the state of the water, seeing how quickly they turn to mush.

One of the aunties was going to get M a paw patrol toy and wanted to make sure it was one we didn't have already. I was napping so I delegated the task to J and handed her my phone. The video she took was priceless, but I appreciated her organization skills lining them up and categorizing them by character and size.

Husband took M for Fathers and Sons campout so I took J out on the town and let her wear any of my make up she wanted. When I asked what fancy restaurant she wanted to go to, she said Panda Express. After my veto she suggested Old McDonalds. I also vetoed that and said it wasn't fancy enough. She wanted to invite her cousin and Auntie for our girls night and I agreed to that for sure. When relating the funny choices of fancy restaurants to my sister, Ellie pipes in, "I know a fancy restaurant! How about Dairy Queen?" Big Sis couldn't come, but I thought Cheesecake Factory had enough ambiance and was casual enough for two little girls to have fun. They were simply delighted with the cheesecake options. Note the hands.

They ate two bites a piece of this cheesecake.

The dollar theater was next door so we saw Kung Fu Panda 3 afterwards.

I finally finished this beast of a quilt. Only took me two or three years and new sewing machine. My friend Janette ironed and pinned the edges for me when I didn't think I could rally the energy to finish it. And because I don't have a full size ironing board, because ironing is overrated.

She loves it though and it was made with material and jeans I already had so the only cost was the 5 spools of thread and the 4 needles it took. I do not recommend this pattern to anyone. It is a devil. I did an ombre pattern on the back that turned out pretty.

J made such cute flowers for her end of preschool celebration. I sort of want to start crying when I think about how this is an end of a season for us. We are locked into a school schedule for the next 20 years. Time goes far too fast.

Here is her soul sister Megan and another friend Emmie

We adore Mrs Edith and are so sad this is the last year she's teaching preschool.  J has learned so much and never once cried getting dropped off.

Easter 2016

So I apparently never took these pictures off of my real camera. Oops! Here are pictures of our Easter finest. We went over to Madre Dos's house where they set up an egg hunt for all the cousins.

M did not want to take pictures.

He was interested in his basket of eggs though

Especially the dollar

I just bought Easter clothes this year instead of sewing them because #pregnant. The tie was $1 and was a youth size so I did a fancy pinterest knot I was quite proud of. Now he won't wear any ties but the yellow one with this suit.

And here was what Easter morning looked like. Husband is in charge of Easter baskets and it is awesome not to have to think about it.

I saw these giant origami bunnies and Big Sis hooked me up with some paper. I ended up making far too many of them and then used the left overs to make even more bunny families that we set out on the lawns of our friends. Folks were surprisingly delighted with them. My kids thought there were meh and actually liked the tiny ones better.

M LOVED his first action figure. This is why it's good to put Dads in charge because I would never have thought of getting a 2 year old an action figure. Dad win!

J loved her Monster High doll, another hit that Mom would never have bought.

Happy Easter, three months late :)

So here's some of what happened in May

I have still taught my spin and yoga classes every week and I had to laugh. From the front- normal

From the side, BOOM! Pregnant.  I think this was about 34 weeks.

J had her last ballet class of the session. Two years with Ms Stacey and I never knew how much I'd enjoy watching J dance.

I was using the bathroom and J told me through the door to hurry up because she had something to show me. "You're going to love this!" I really did love that she made a finger person with stickers.

We have reached the end of nap time. Which really means he passes out in strange places between 4:30 and 5pm. Cracks me up!

Cousin Ellie gave this girl her old bike and it fits much better. J loves to go fast down the hills of the retention basin.

My friend posted these cute science crochet guys on facebook so I made her some.

Friday is field trip day at our house so we went to Pump It Up with Jacob and Caleb. The kids spontaneously linked arms and I melted.

I finally paid someone to put the cap on the gosh darn little wall. I've been meaning to do it myself for the last three years and decided I'd rather just pay someone. Eventually there was going to be a fountain behind it, but we'll probably end up moving before that actually happens.

I just can't help it. He's so cute when he sleeps.

On his actual bday, he chose Unka Donald's for dinner.

Husband had a lot of travel arranged in May and there wasn't a good time to take M on his traditional birthday present outing solo so we went as a family. M picked this Hot Wheels track and adores it like only a 3 year old can.
